Fairbanks Cemetery Rules
VISITING HOURS
GRAVE DECORATIONS
GENERAL CONDUCT
- The cemetery is open daily from sunrise to sunset or 6 AM to 6 PM.
- Visitors are not permitted on the grounds outside of posted hours.
- Exceptions may be made for scheduled services or with prior approval.
- Trespassing, vandalism, or theft will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

- Please maintain a respectful tone and behavior at all times.
- Loud music, alcohol, and disorderly conduct are strictly prohibited.
- No pets.
- Speed limit on cemetery grounds is typically 5–10 mph.
- Please report any safety hazards or suspicious activity to cemetery management.

Burials and Monuments
- Fresh or artificial flowers, wreaths, and small decorations are welcome.
- Glass, ceramic, or breakable items are not permitted and may be removed for safety.
- All decorations and cleanups will occur the first weekend after the 15th of January, April, July and October.

- All interments must be scheduled and only authorized personnel may dig or alter gravesites.
- No permanent items (benches, fences, lights, etc.) may be installed without written permission.
- Religious, cultural, or military rites are welcomed with advance notice.

- Fairbanks Cemetery Association maintains all common areas and grounds.
- Families are not permitted to plant trees, shrubs, or flower beds without prior approval.
- Any plantings or items that interfere with maintenance or safety may be removed.

- No firearms are allowed except for military honors during a veteran’s burial.
- Open flames, candles, lanterns, fireworks or incense are not permitted.
- Littering is strictly prohibited — please use designated waste bins.
